چکیده

Abstract Nowadays, the use of microalgae biomass is evolving rapidly for their various applications such as food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics. One essential compounds in that have good perspectives market pigment since it can be used a natural colorant food or However, extraction bio-pigments from green Chlorella pyrenoidosa under different solvent ratios still rarely reported. Therefore, this study aims to investigate bio-pigment potential C. extracted ethanol ratios. The algae-to-ethanol 1:5, 1:7.5, 1:10 were employed study. Direct Biodiesel Production from Wet Microalgae Biomass of Chlorella pyrenoidosa through In Situ Transesterification

A one-step process was applied to directly converting wet oil-bearing microalgae biomass of Chlorella pyrenoidosa containing about 90% of water into biodiesel. In order to investigate the effects of water content on biodiesel production, distilled water was added to dried microalgae biomass to form wet biomass used to produce biodiesel. The results showed that at lower temperature of 90°C, wate...

Investigating the effect of different concentrations of heavy metal of cadmium on the green microalgae of Chlorella sp.

Heavy metal pollution in aquatic ecosystems affects microalgae and zooplankton, alters the biomass and abundance of species, and promotes interspecies relationships to the predominance of less sensitive species. In this study, the effect of short-term stress of different concentrations of cadmium heavy metal on Chlorella sp. growth and some biochemical parameters have been investigated. Microal...

Recovery of Functional Pigments from four Different Species of Microalgae

In the present work, four species of microalgae: Spirulina platensis (SP), Chlorella vulgaris (CV), Haematococcus pluvialis (HP), and the diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum (PT) were selected as raw materials for the recovery of multifunctional extracts. Ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE) using different solvents was applied under specific optimized conditions. Organic solvents such as hexane, ...

Anaerobic lipoxygenase activity from Chlorella pyrenoidosa.

The micro-alga Chlorella pyrenoidosa expresses an enzymatic activity that cleaves the 13-hydroperoxide derivatives of linoleic acid [13-hydroperoxy-9(Z),11(E)-octadecadienoic acid, 13-HPOD] and linolenic acid [13-hydroperoxy-9(Z),11(E),15(Z)-octadecatrienoic acid, 13-HPOT] into volatile C(5) and non-volatile C(13) oxo-products. This enzymic activity initially was attributed to a hydroperoxide l...
